Information Systems Architect

IT Architect, Software Architect, Urban Planner

An Information Systems Architect builds and develops a company’s information system (servers, operating systems, software, computers, etc.) to adapt it to the needs of its users. Possessing both IT expertise and strategy skills, they act as a liaison between management and technical teams. They may work in companies or as consultants (self-employed or for a digital services company).

Tasks

  • They analyse the flow of information within the company and determine customer needs.

  • They decide on the technical architecture of the system and its division into sub-systems, while guaranteeing technical choices and cost control.

  • They are involved in the reconfiguration of server connection layouts.

  • They advise company management on the technological or organisational modifications that the new information system may require.

  • They coordinate a technical team, particularly during design meetings, and report on project progress.
