An IT Developer is an expert in computer languages who translates a client’s request into lines of code. They design customised programmes. They write and follow specifications by listening to user needs, translating these needs and detailing possible technical solutions. To write a programme, developers use software packages such as C++, Python, or Java, and adapt them to the specific needs of the project. 

They can work for different types of organisations: companies, public bodies, start-ups, or as freelancers.
